Future experts on European energy data: University students work with EDDIE

This semester, 26 master’s students in Computer Science and Business Economics at the University of Vienna explored European energy data sharing with EDDIE.

As part of the course Network-based Communication Ecosystems, led by Oliver Hödl, Nikolas Zechner and Florian Güldenpfennig, the students were introduced to energy-data-based use cases, data-driven services and the newly released EDDIE open-source repository. Building on this foundation, they developed their own energy-data-driven business models in practical group work.

One of the highlights of the kick-off session was a guest talk by Asko Rienzner from Oetzi Energy, who shared practical insights into the company’s work and demonstrated how EDDIE supports the scaling of innovative energy services.
